Having four children of their own, Ann and John Stocks understand the importance of quality family holidays. With this in mind, they took over Compton Pool Farm in April 2005 when they sold their successful garden centre business.
They set about creating a haven from which families of all shapes and sizes could relax and appreciate the joys of the West Country. This meant closing the business for six months in September 2005 so the cottages and facilities could be redesigned with luxury in mind. They weren’t satisfied with running somewhere satisfactory – it needed to be a home-from-home, a place that guests would want to return to every year.
Since the reopening in April 2006, Ann and John work tirelessly to keep the cottages and site up to the standard that guests have come to expect. They can be found in and around the reception most days, sorting out problems before they happen and welcoming guests from near and far.
They have lived in South Devon with their assorted bunch of children and animals for 16 years and are still discovering the many treasures that the area has to offer.

Our luxury holiday cottages are comfortably furnished and include a private and secure garden, hand crafted contemporary furniture, king size beds in double bedrooms, top quality soft furnishings (with all bedding and towels included), flat screen digital TV’s, DVD players and Bose HiFi systems; with cots, high chairs and stair gates available at no extra cost.
The stunning grounds and gardens are a particular feature of Compton Pool Farm in South Devon. There are 14 acres, all of which is available to stroll around at your leisure. Two of the 5 lakes are well stocked with fish, including mirror carp, common carp, rudd, roach and tench and are ideal for a fishing holiday in Devon.
The orchard houses friendly goats, pot bellied pigs and chickens and are a source of great joy to children and adults alike. The whole area is abundant with wildlife, especially birdlife including heron, kingfisher, woodpeckers, moorhens, ducks and geese.
Compton Pool Farm is truly rural yet easily accessible to many clean and safe beaches, the National Park of Dartmoor, an array of tourist attractions for all the family and a good selection of supermarkets and shops.
